Why is Social Studies important?

As you progress through your courses, you may wonder what the point is to knowing all of this. Why do we study Social Studies?

Social Studies looks at History, Civics, Current Events, Geography, Psychology, Economics, and other similar subjects. All of these subjects go beyond the classroom. These concepts explain and effect how and why the world is what it is today and even shape our day to day lives. 

Because of this, Social Studies is a powerful tool to use understand the world, learn from the past, and to advocate for ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities.
